10 - Let There Be Light

Hercules, Morrigan and Nebula return to Greece to find the evil god Dahak. When they arrive in the town of Corinth, there is an almost carnival-like atmosphere. Antibius approaches Hercules and tells him that while Hercules was gone, the Olympian gods abandoned the people. When they were on the brink of ruin, a native son returned to guide them. As they talk, Hercules is recognized and pandemonium breaks out. Iolaus, possessed by Dahak, appears and assures the people of Corinth that he will deliver them from the wrath of Hercules. Urged by the people's pleas to leave, the three retreat to the woods. While Hercules sends Morrigan and Nebula out to find out what happened while he was gone, he goes to see Jason. Although Jason is convinced that Hercules has killed the Olympian gods, Hercules convinces him that Dahak has been lying to everyone. Jason tells Hercules that he can find Iolaus in any of the temples that have been converted into shrines to Dahak.
Hercules enters a temple and is confronted by Iolaus, who once again tries to convert Hercules into a believer. Hercules refuses and Iolaus attempts to get Hercules to kill him. When Hercules refuses, Iolaus disappears. Hercules leaves the temple and regroups with Morrigan and Nebula. Hercules tells them that Dahak wants to make the world like it was before the gods. He sends Morrigan and Nebula to find Dahak's stronghold, while he tries to find the beings that ruled the earth before the gods, the Titans. Hercules goes to a volcano and summons Mnemosyne, one of the Titans imprisoned by Zeus. Mnemosyne tells Hercules that he must find the Stone of Creation and confront Dahak with it at dawn. The stone will harness a pure light that will render Dahak powerless long enough for him to be sent back to his realm.
Hercules leaves the volcano and is approached by Zarathustra, a man condemned to immortality by Dahak for resisting the Dark One's teachings. Hercules learns from Zarathustra that if he kills Dahak, he condemns Iolaus' soul and destroys the world. Meanwhile, Nebula goes to a temple and is greeted by Iolaus. She tries to resist him, but is mesmerized by him. While Jason and Morrigan walk through Alcmene's garden, they are approached by some of Iolaus' warriors. They ward off the thugs, but Nebula appears and knocks Morrigan unconscious.
Morrigan awakens to find Jason and herself imprisoned in Dahak's fortress. Jason escapes, but Morrigan is handcuffed and taken to the altar. Meanwhile, Hercules is convinced that he can separate Iolaus' soul from Dahak and send Dahak back to his realm, allowing Iolaus to rest in peace and restoring balance to the world. He and Zarathustra find the Stone of Creation, regroup with Jason and return to Dahak's stronghold. Inside, Iolaus gives Nebula the order to kill Morrigan. Fortunately, Nebula has been deceiving Iolaus about her trance-like state and cuts Morrigan free. At the same time, Hercules, Jason and Zarathustra burst into the fortress. With the team reunited, Hercules and the group fight their way through his followers to Iolaus. Dawn breaks and Hercules pulls out the stone to harness the light. Light chains spiral around Iolaus, assume metallic form and bind him to the altar. With his friends beside him, Hercules prepares to perform the exorcism.

Hércules, Morrigan e Nebula retornaram à Grécia para encontrar-se com o demônio Dahak.
Quando chegaram na cidade de Corinto, havia uma atmosfera quase que carnavalesca. Antibius aproximou-se de Hércules e lhe contou que enquanto ele estivera ausente, os deuses do Olimpo abandonaram o povo. Quando eles estavam à beira da ruína, um filho nativo retornava para guiá-los. Enquanto conversavam, Hércules foi reconhecido, e instalou-se um verdadeiro pandemônio. Iolaus, possuído pelo demônio Dahak, apareceu e assegurou ao povo de Corinto que ele os livraria da ira de Hércules.
Apressados pelos apelos do povo para irem embora, os três amigos se retiram para a floresta. Enquanto Hércules enviava Morrigan e Nebula para descobrir o que havia acontecido na sua ausência, ele foi encontrar-se com Jasão. Embora Jasão estivesse convencido de que Hércules havia matado os deuses do Olimpo (!), o filho de Zeus por sua vez o convenceu de que Dahak vinha mentindo para todos. Jasão disse a Hércules que podia encontrar Iolaus em qualquer dos templos, que tinham sido convertidos em santuários para Dahak.
Hércules entrou em um templo, e foi confrontado por Iolaus, que mais uma vez tentou convertê-lo em um seguidor. Hércules, é claro, recusou-se, e Iolaus desapareceu. Hércules deixou o templo e reuniu-se com Morrigan e Nebula. Disse a elas que Dahak queria deixar o mundo como era antes dos deuses. Ele enviou Morrigan e Nebula para a fortaleza de Dahak, onde ele tentou encontrar os seres que governavam a terra antes dos deuses – os Titãs. Hércules foi até um vulcão e convocou Mnemosyne, um dos Titãs aprisionados por Zeus. Mnemosyne disse a Hércules que ele devia encontrar a Pedra da Criação e confrontar Dahak com ela ao amanhecer. A Pedra formaria uma cadeia de pura luz que subjugaria o poder de Dahak por tempo suficiente para que ele fosse novamente lançado ao seu próprio reduto.
Hércules deixou o vulcão e foi abordado por Zarathustra, um homem condenado à imortalidade por Dahak por resistir aos ensinamentos das Trevas. Hércules ficou sabendo por Zarathustra que se ele matasse Dahak, condenaria a alma de Iolaus e destruiria o mundo.
Entrementes, Nebula ia a um templo e era recebida por Iolaus. Ela tentou resistir a ele, mas foi dominada. Enquanto Jasão e Morrigan caminhavam pelo jardim de Alcmene, foram cercados por alguns dos guerreiros de Iolaus. Eles escaparam dos agressores, mas Nebula apareceu e golpeou Morrigan, deixando-a inconsciente.
Morrigan recobrou os sentidos para descobrir que ela e Jasão estavam presos na fortaleza de Dahak. Jasão escapou, mas Morrigan foi acorrentada e levada para o altar. Enquanto isso, Hércules era convencido de que poderia separar a alma de Iolaus de Dahak, e enviar o demônio de volta para seu reduto, permitindo a Iolaus que descansasse em paz e restaurando o equilíbrio do mundo. Ele e Zarathustra encontraram a Pedra da Criação, e reuniram-se com Jasão e retornaram à fortaleza de Dahak. Lá dentro, Iolaus dava a Nebula ordem para matar Morrigan. Felizmente, Nebula havia enganado Iolaus sobre seu estado de transe, e libertou Morrigan. Ao mesmo tempo, Hércules, Jasão e Zarathustra invadiam a fortaleza. Com a equipe novamente reunida, Hércules e seus amigos abriram caminho através dos seus perseguidores até Iolaus. O dia amanheceu, e Hércules trouxe a Pedra para que formasse a cadeia de luz.
As correntes de luz, em espiral, envolveram Iolaus, assumindo forma metálica e amarrando-o ao altar. Com seus amigos ao lado, Hércules se preparou para executar o exorcismo.

Esse episódio coloca nossos heróis novamente às voltas com o demônio que se apossou do corpo - e da alma - de Iolaus.

As cenas de Dahak falando pela boca de Iolaus, com aquela voz cavernosa, e os olhos negros como dois poços sem fundo ... puxa, foram verdadeiramente arrepiantes! Michael foi fantástico!

Iolaus está apavorante! Dahak é apavorante! Que epísódio incrível!
Michael segura nos braços seu filho pequeno na cena em que Hércules, Morrigan e Nebula entram na Grécia e são recebidos por Iolaus/Dahak e seus seguidores.
