ENGLISH SYNOPSIS:
13 - Stranger and Stranger
A strange vortex appears, causing destruction throughout a farming community. Although the peasants think the gods are punishing them for believing Dahak's lies, Hercules knows that the gods fled Olympus when Dahak came to Greece. Recognizing the vortex as a gateway to a parallel world, Hercules surmises the location of the missing gods. He jumps through the vortex and lands in Netherworld, a desolate area between the worlds. As he surveys his surroundings, he finds the unconscious body of his evil double, the Sovereign. He is also surprised to find Iolaus' double from the parallel dimension hiding nearby. Iolaus, a cowardly version of Hercules' late sidekick, has been hiding in the Netherworld from the new evil empress in his world. Hercules convinces him to follow him back to the alternate world. Hercules tells him that he has to find his gods, since their absence is causing his world to be torn apart. Meanwhile, Ares discovers that Hercules has entered the other dimension and decides to follow him. Finding the Sovereign in the Netherworld, Ares fights him for possession of the one thing that can kill a god - the vial of hind's blood that the Sovereign wears around his neck. Ares ends the fight by stabbing the Sovereign with a dagger coated with the poison. Possessing the one thing that will kill both Hercules and the other gods, Ares enters the other dimension.
In the parallel world, Nebula is the evil and sadistic ruler of the land. She rules as empress and enjoys killing her subjects. Disgusted by the evil he sees, Hercules convinces Iolaus to lead him to the Sovereign's personal wardrobe. Disguised as the Sovereign, Hercules learns that this world's Nebula has made a deal with his world's Ares. She arranged to have the Greek gods trapped in the Labyrinth of Eternal Memory, thus allowing Ares to become the only god back home. In return, he made Nebula the empress of this world. Hercules, still posing as the Sovereign, has Nebula escorted back to his private chambers, while he and Iolaus head off to the labyrinth. Ares' double, the God of Love, stops Hercules and Iolaus to tell them that the Ares has arrived in this dimension and has informed Nebula of his deception. Hercules asks Ares to keep his enemies busy while they search for the gods. Ares returns to the Sovereign's chambers and casts a love spell on Nebula, causing her to crave his double, the God of War.
At the entrance of the labyrinth, Hercules and Iolaus are attacked by a giant snake. Iolaus tries to be brave, with mixed results. Escaping the snake, Iolaus tells Hercules how much he hates himself for being a coward. As Iolaus relives memories, the floor beneath them slowly becomes quicksand. Realizing that his memories are causing the floor to engulf them, Hercules tells Iolaus that he has to forget his past failures and look forward to life in the future. The floor solidifies and Hercules and Iolaus discover the orb in which all the gods are imprisoned. As they grab the orb, Ares appears to kill Hercules with the poisoned dagger. As the battle escalates, Nebula appears and threatens Iolaus. Using the traps built around the orb, Hercules defeats both Ares and Nebula and releases the gods. Iolaus tells Hercules what he was thinking of when he pictured the future: going off with Hercules and starting a new life in a new world. Though Hercules says that the past can never be forgotten, some people get a second chance. With that thought, they jump into the vortex to return to Hercules' world.

Um estranho vórtice surgiu de repente, causando destruição em toda uma comunidade rural.
Apesar de os camponeses acharem que os deuses os estavam punindo por acreditarem nas mentiras do demônio Dahak, Hércules sabia que os deuses se haviam refugiado no Olimpo quando Dahak veio à Grécia.
Reconhecendo o vórtice como um portal para um mundo paralelo, Hércules desconfiou do paradeiro dos deuses desaparecidos. Ele então saltou para o vórtice e “aterrissou” numa dimensão intermediária, uma área desolada entre os mundos. Enquanto ele escrutinava os arredores, encontrou o corpo inconsciente de seu malévolo duplo, o Soberano. Ele também ficou surpreso em descobrir o duplo de Iolaus, escondido nas proximidades. Esse Iolaus, uma versão covarde do saudoso camarada de Hércules, vinha se escondendo naquela dimensão da nova e diabólica Imperatriz de seu mundo.
Hércules convenceu-o a segui-lo de volta ao mundo alternativo, e lhe disse que tinham que encontrar seus deuses, uma vez que a ausência deles estava despedaçando seu próprio mundo.
Enquanto isso, Ares descobriu que Hércules tinha entrado na outra dimensão e decidiu segui-lo. Encontrando o Soberano, Ares lutou com ele pela posse de algo que ele trazia pendurado ao pescoço – a única coisa que poderia matar um deus. Pois o Soberano tinha consigo um frasco contendo o sangue de uma corça de ouro. Ares acabou com a luta, golpeando o Soberano com um punhal embebido no sangue. De posse do precioso frasco, cujo conteúdo podia matar tanto Hércules como os outros deuses, Ares retornou para a outra dimensão.
No mundo paralelo, Nebula era a diabólica e sádica governante da terra. Ela governava como uma Imperatriz e apreciava matar seus desafetos. Desgostoso pelo Mal que viu, Hércules convenceu Iolaus a guiá-lo até o guarda-roupas do Soberano. E assim, disfarçado como o Soberano, Hércules ficou sabendo que a Nebula daquele mundo tinha feito uma acordo com o Ares do outro. Ela planejara para que os deuses gregos fossem aprisionados no Labirinto das Lembranças Eternas, além de permitir que Ares se tornasse o único deus de seu mundo. Em troca, ele fizera de Nebula Imperatriz desse mundo paralelo. Hércules, ainda se fazendo passar pelo Soberano, levou Nebula para os “seus” aposentos, de onde ele e Iolaus seguiram para o Labirinto. O duplo de Ares, o deus do Amor daquela dimensão, parou Hércules e Iolaus para contar-lhes que o outro Ares tinha chegado em sua dimensão e informado Nebula de sua farsa. Hércules pediu a Ares para manter seus inimigos ocupados enquanto ele e Iolaus procuravam os deuses.
Ares retornou aos aposentos do Soberano e desfiou uma lengalenga amorosa sobre Nebula, fazendo-a desejar seu duplo, o deus da Guerra.
E na entrada do Labirinto, Hércules e Iolaus foram atacados por uma serpente gigante. Iolaus tentou ser bravo, mas não conseguiu. Escapando do monstro, ele disse a Hércules o quanto detestava a si mesmo por ser covarde. Enquanto Iolaus revivia as lembranças, o chão sob eles tornou-se movediço e eles começaram a afundar lentamente. Percebendo que suas lembranças estavam fazendo com que o chão os fosse engolfando, Hércules disse a Iolaus que ele devia esquecer seus fracassos do passado e olhar para frente, para sua vida no futuro. O chão voltou a ser sólido, e Hércules e Iolaus descobriram a esfera onde todos os deuses estavam aprisionados.
Enquanto agarravam a esfera, Ares apareceu para matar Hércules com o punhal embebido no sangue da corça. Enquanto lutavam, Nebula surgiu e ameaçou Iolaus. Usando as muitas armadilhas construídas ao redor da esfera, Hércules derrotou a ambos, Ares e Nebula, e libertou os deuses. Iolaus disse a ele no que estivera pensando quando vislumbrava o Futuro: acompanhar Hércules e começar uma nova vida em um novo mundo.
Embora Hércules dissesse que o passado nunca poderia ser esquecido, algumas pessoas conseguiam uma segunda chance.
Com esse pensamento, eles saltaram para dentro do vórtice e retornaram ao mundo de Hércules.

Interessante esse episódio ...
Mas Ares não desiste mesmo, hein ...? Seu ódio por Hércules é tão grande, que ele o segue até através dos Universos paralelos! Além disso, ele continua com sede de poder ... quer ser o senhor absoluto do Olimpo.
